The NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF FOOD AND AGRICULTURE
in the DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE will be seeking to fill the position of the
DIRECTOR OF THE CENTER FOR INTERNATIONAL PROGRAMS
The National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) will be seeking to fill the position of the Director for the agency’s Center for International Programs (CIP). The Center is responsible for ensuring NIFA’s global engagement in the food and agricultural sciences. The Center provides broad national leadership and support for cooperative research, education, and extension to meet major national and international needs and challenges in food and agricultural system productivity; development of new food, fiber, and energy sources; agricultural energy use and production; natural resources; promotion of health and welfare of people; human nutrition; and international food and agriculture.
The Center Director will provide agency-wide leadership for the development, coordination, reporting, and evaluation of the agency’s international initiatives, programs, and partnerships. The Director serves as the primary point of contact for NIFA for international activities and will be responsible for catalyzing global engagement of NIFA programs and developing effective partnerships. The incumbent serves as a principal advisor to the Director and Associate Directors of NIFA in evaluating, planning, directing, and coordinating all international activities related to the mission and function of NIFA and in the allocation of resources to carry out these programs.
The Center Director is a full-time, permanent GS-15 level position located in Washington, DC. This position is open to all U.S. Citizens.
You must have an education and experience background in natural resources management, agriculture, biological sciences, chemistry, or the social sciences.
