OBJECTIVES: The United States? Feed the Future (FTF)
Presidential Initiative targets food security, poverty reduction, and improved nutrition with a primary focus in Asia on Cambodia, Nepal, and Bangladesh, and, to a lesser extent, Burma, East Timor and India.
In addition, USAID/RDMA serves as a regional mission for FTF, supporting the investments of the FTF countries through regional coordination, facilitation, and knowledge sharing.
To be eligible for an award, the Applicant must submit their application, in its entirety. Interested organizations should successfully demonstrate in their applications that they are capable of and have the capacity to implement activities in the Asia Region.
U.S. and non-U.S. NGOs are eligible to submit applications. For the purposes of this RFA, NGOs include any incorporated entity, either non-profit or for-profit, other than a governmental organization. To be eligible for award of a cooperative agreement, in addition to other conditions of this RFA, organizations must be politically neutral, and have a commitment to non-discrimination with respect to beneficiaries and adherence to equal opportunity employment practices.
Non-discrimination includes equal treatment without regard to race, religion, ethnicity, gender, and political affiliation.
USAID expects to award one or more cooperative agreement to implement the Asian Ag Tech Activity as described in Section 1, Funding Opportunity Description, of this RFA. Subject to the availability of funds, up to $15 million is available for a five-year program estimated to run from September 2015 to August 2020. A cost share of 10% of the USAID/RDMA core-funded program amount is required for this award.
