SYNOPSIS: The overall objective of this program is to enhance
biodiversity conservation in Brazilian Amazon Protected Area Systems.
For the purposes of this APS, Protected Areas (PAs) include strict protection conservation units, sustainable use conservation units, and Indigenous lands. The three sub-purposes under the overall program objective are: 1. strengthen biodiversity conservation efforts in priority protected area mosaics; 2. support the Brazilian national policy for land and environmental management in Indigenous lands (PNGATI); 3. apply science, technology and innovation to improve biodiversity conservation.

OBJECTIVES: The objective of this APS is to support projects
from one or more organizations to manage projects of a network of Indigenous organizations. Those projects will provide territorial and environmental management of Indigenous lands in the South of Amazonas State connected to the following FUNAI Regional Coordination Units:1.
Coordena??o Regional do Madeira; 2. Coordena??o Regional do Alto Purus; 3. Coordena??o Regional do M?dio Purus; 4. Coordena??o Regional de Manaus (Coordena??es T?cnicas Locais de Manicor? e Tapau?).
USAID welcomes applications from qualified U.S. and non-U.S.
Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), colleges and universities and commercial (for-profit) entities. All applicants must be legally recognized organizational entities under applicable law. Individuals are not eligible to apply under this solicitation.
Subject to the availability of funds, USAID intends to provide approximately $2,500,000 (two million five hundred thousand dollars) in total funding. USAID estimates that 2 to 3 awards will be made under this APS. USAID reserves the right to fund or not fund any application submitted.
