You are cordially invited to join us for the Central American Summit: Forging a Viable Future to discuss agriculture and its complex and vital role in helping enhance the livelihoods and economic stability of people in this important region of the world. The Summit will be held on June 27-29 in Fort Worth, Texas at the Renaissance Marriott Hotel downtown.
We are honored to have Representative Kay Granger, Chairwoman of the State and Foreign Operations Subcommittee on Appropriations of the US House of Representatives as the keynote speaker, who will bring us her perspective on the U.S. commitment to agriculture in Central America.
The conference will feature distinguished speakers from the region, including ministers of agriculture from El Salvador, Honduras and Guatemala, as well as leaders from the agriculture private sector, academia, as well as non-government organizations. In addition, presenters will include U.S. government officials and international donor organizations. Presenters will lead discussions on several issues facing the three focus countries in the region, including reducing rural poverty as a means to enhance farmer livelihoods and reduce urban overcrowding and migration, investing in capacity building, infrastructure, and entrepreneurship, as well as creating mutually beneficial policies and partnerships to sustain these efforts.
